Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, its international status and global influence has been on the rise. China has played host to several large-scale events from sports championships to leadership summits on its home turf.
如1990年北京亚运会、2001中国APEC峰会、2010年上海世博会、2016年杭州G20峰会、2017年金砖国家领导人会议、2019北京世界园艺博览会等等。而这期间，中国成功举办2008年北京奥运会和残奥会无疑是让每个华夏子孙“热血沸腾”的一次大型盛事。
China has hosted the 1990 Beijing Asian Games, 2001 China APEC Summit, 2010 Shanghai World Expo, 2016 Hangzhou G20 Summit, 2017 BRICS Leaders' Meeting, 2019 Beijing World Horticultural Exposition among others. During this period, China's successful hosting of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games catapulted the country into a major host destination for global events and left its residents brimming with excitement.

In 2008, China’s capital Beijing successfully hosted the 29th Summer Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. This was not just a landmark achievement for international athletes many of whom battled disability to reach this sought-after platform but also showed that a period of reforms and liberalization had propelled China to the center of international affairs.

China has continued to hold sports events such as the Youth Olympic Games, the World University Games and the World Athletics Championships. In the domain of economy and technology, China has sponsored international events such as the Belt and Road Summit Forum for International Cooperation, the World Internet Conference, the Boao Forum for Asia and China International Import Expo.
