Dear Honorable representatives of the Government, esteemed colleagues and friends,
尊敬的各位领导、各位同仁、朋友们，大家好：
As we commemorate World Toilet Day, I want to reflect on our journey towards improved sanitation in China, a mission driven by strong partnerships with government, industry and civil society in China.
今天我们在这里共同庆祝“世界厕所日”，我希望借此机会回顾我们在中国推动环境卫生事业发展的历程，在这一过程中我们得到了包括政府、行业以及社会各界的大力支持。
The year 2013 marked the inception of RTTC China, a venture nurtured by our alliance with USTB under the guidance and leadership of Prof. Zifu Li.
2013年，我们与北京科技大学合作，在中国发起厕所创新大赛，项目由李子富教授领导和负责。
In 2015, our collaboration with the China National Tourism Administration bore fruit, inspiring a competition that sought innovative sanitation solutions for public toilets, capable of killing pathogens, recovering resources, and water for reuse or recycling. I enjoyed touring the country, meeting innovators, inventors, and exchanging with subject matter experts selected by the CNTA.
2015年，我们与中国国家旅游局的合作也取得了成果，我们发起了“全国厕所技术创新大赛”，激励大家为公共厕所寻找创新的环境卫生解决方案——在能够消灭病原体的同时，实现资源回收和循环水再利用。借此契机，我有幸前往中国各地，与创新人才、发明家见面，与国家旅游局选出的业内专家开展交流。
Since 2016, our co-investment ventures with various industries have been instrumental in fostering a competitive environment for transformative technological development to meet ISO30500 and ISO31800. Notably, MARA's pilot of 13 avant-garde technologies across community and public toilets, showcasing self-sufficiency by operating without sewer connection or desludging services and innovatively recycling water for safe reuse. The Beijing 27 Locomotive piloted one of the best OP designs in partnership with WuHe County and supported the assembly of the Senegal first commercial OP in 2021.
2016年以来，我们与多个行业开展的合作项目在培育一个有竞争活力的市场环境方面已经取得成效，加速了创新技术的发展，以达到ISO30500和ISO31800这两项国际标准。值得一提的是，中国农业农村部开展了13项公共和社区厕所先进技术的试点项目。这些技术让厕所在不需要下水道、不需要清掏服务的条件下，能够独立、安全运转，同时创造性地实现水资源的安全循环利用。北京二七机车工业公司与安徽省蚌埠市五河县合作，试点落地了最为先进的粪污处理装置之一——万能处理器。也是在北京二七机车的支持下，塞内加尔首台商用万能处理器于2021年顺利完成组装。
2018 saw us joining forces with MARA and CCPIT in hosting the Reinvented Toilet Expo, and jointly advocating for industry partnerships to bolster sanitation efforts.
2018年，我们与中国农业农村部、中国国际贸易促进委员会合作举办了“新世代厕所博览会”，共促行业合作，支持环境卫生事业发展。
Our strengthened alliance since 2018 with MARA, Huanke, CRRC-EST, and others, amplifies our resolve to build a robust non sewer sanitation industry. Supporting frontrunners like Huatie-ATD, JOMOO, ECOSAN, Clear and Beijing 27 Locomotive, we're propelling product development to meet international standards, thus contributing not just to China's Toilet Revolution but global sanitation enhancements.
2018年以来，通过加强与中国农业农村部、上海市环境科学研究院、中车环境科技有限公司和其他伙伴的合作，我们更加坚定了建立并壮大无下水道卫生产业的决心。通过支持行业领军企业，如华铁、九牧、江苏宜兴艾科森、江苏克莱尔以及北京二七机车工业，我们推动产品开发与国际标准接轨，这样不仅能支持中国开展厕所革命，还能为世界环境卫生水平的改善做出贡献。
Looking ahead, our blueprint encompasses large-scale deployment of ISO 30500 compliant solution, to introduce pathogen-eliminating solutions in hospitals spearheaded by NHC with the support of CPHCF. We plan to work with utilities and service providers such as the BEWG to develop service and business models that will help role out these innovative technologies for application in homes, residential building, and rural villages. We're counting on our partnership with CRRC-EST to transpose their industrial expertise, honed in the railway sector, to help create a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem of industry player for transformative sanitation solution in China.
展望未来，我们希望能大规模推广符合ISO 30500标准的环境卫生解决方案。我们希望在中国国家卫生健康委员会的引领和中国初级卫生保健基金会的支持下，把能够完全杀灭病原体的新世代厕所引入医院系统进行应用。我们计划与北控水务集团等公共设备和服务供应商合作，共同开发新型服务和商业化模式，以推动创新技术在家庭、住宅楼和农村的应用。我们也寄望于与中车环境的合作，借助他们在铁路行业积累的制造经验，为变革性环境卫生解决方案的行业参与者创造一个有活力、可持续的生态系统。
To support the growth of the industry, we plan to reinforce our partnership with USTB and Prof. Zifu Li, by inaugurating a center of excellence. This hub will synergize R&D efforts with global platforms, nurturing innovative and climate resilient sanitation solutions, and thus, continuing to fuel our burgeoning sanitation industry with cutting-edge technologies.
为进一步推动行业发展，我们将继续加强与北京科技大学以及李子富教授团队的合作建立一个卓越中心。该中心将聚合协同多个全球平台的研发能力，孵化具备气候韧性的、创新的环境卫生解决方案，以最先进的技术力量持续助力环境卫生行业的蓬勃发展。
Our Foundation's China office will continue to serve as focal point of our work in China and a bridge to connect the Chinese partners and partners around the globe to promote transformative and climate resilient sanitation solutions. Our partnership will have much bigger impact if the government prioritizes policies and regulations to request pathogen killing sanitation innovation, and provide funding to leading pioneering industry players to showcase their capabilities.
盖茨基金会北京代表处是基金会在中国推动各项事业的桥梁，它将一如既往地为中国和遍布世界各地的合作伙伴建立联系，推动发展有气候韧性的变革性环境卫生解决方案。同时，我相信如果政府能够尽快出台相关政策和规章制度，规范可杀灭病原体的创新环境卫生技术的发展，并为行业领跑者提供资金支持，我们的伙伴关系就能产生更大的影响力。
Together, as we reminisce and envision the road ahead, the essence of collaboration is catalyzing the launch of a sustainable non-sewer sanitation industry and accelerating the achievement of the toilet revolution goals.
不论是回顾过往，还是展望未来，我们合作的宗旨就是：推动无下水道卫生行业的可持续发展，加速实现厕所革命的目标。
